Two casts, obverse and reverse, of a commemorative medal. Obverse: Port quarter view of a ship. Legend: 'IMPERATOR . MARIS . TERRAE . DOMINVS.' (Whoever commands the sea is master of land). Reverse: Shield of arms of Zealand. Legend: 'LVCTOR . ET . EMERGO . 1602.' Supposedly struck to commemorate the founding of the Dutch East India Company.
