Muriel (1869); Recreation vessel; Yacht
        
        Scale:1:24. A contemporary half block model of the cutter rigged yacht Muriel(1869). The wooden hull is constructed in bread and butter fashion from several horizontal planks of  wood with a darker section denoting the topsides above the waterline. It has an almost plumb stem with a keel running aft at a slight angle and finishing at an angled sternpost, to which is fitted the half elliptical-shaped rudder. The flush deck has a slight curve to the sheer and finishes with a short overhanging counter stern with a small angled transom. The whole model is mounted on a wooden rectangular shaped backboard which has been paint black.
