Equipment model; Anchor model

Scale: Unknown. Model of a Rodger's patent anchor (circa 1853). Model made entirely of metal and with a lacquered brass finish which is slightly tarnished. The shank is square in section and tapers out towards the crown where the arms curve upwards towards the flat, triangular-shaped palms which are mounted on the lower side of each arm. The metal stock is oval in section and rests on a shoulder and is held in place by a fidded metal wedge. There is a pair of circular eyes at the end of the stock while at the head of the shank is fitted a swivelling bow shackle.
