Cadet captain's ropes-end. A single rope lash, whipped at intervals along its length, with a bound yellow wool and fibre handle, tasselled at the ends. The donor, William Henry Challinor Mayhead (1913-1994), was cadet captain of HMS 'Worcester' 1929-30. For minor punishments a cadet was permitted to administer up to six lashes.
