Merchant Navy uniform: pattern 1955
Second Officer's mess jacket, P&O. Standard pattern blue cloth with P&O pattern buttons and shoulder bands of rank (two gold stripes with royal blue cloth between). The cuffs bear the marks where RN (RNR) stripes of gold lace for a Lieutenant have been removed.
