Button, Royal Naval uniform: pattern 1787-1812
Seventeen buttons. Flat. Rope twist edge. Within a circular border is an oval with a lined background and a rope twist border. Within the oval is an anchor with the stock slightly tilted towards the right. The rope is tied to the ring at the top, then goes under the right-hand side of the stock, under the shank to the left, then back under the shank to the right and under the right fluke. Captain, Commander and Lieutenant's button.
