Button, Royal Naval uniform: pattern 1795-1812

Button. Flat. Rope twist edge. Within a circular border is an oval with a rope twist inner edge and a lined background. In the centre is an anchor with the left-hand side of the stock slanting upwards. The rope is tied to the ring at the top, it goes under the right-hand side of the stock, then under the shank to the left, then back under the shank to the right and under the right arm. Dug up in Antigua. Captain, Commander, Lieutenant.
