Photo-electric transmitting compass and binnacle

Bowl-Dia. 9.4" (24cm) Black painted brass, filler plug at centre of verge glass, expansion chamber unsighted. Inside of bowl painted white with a black wire lubber line attached to side. A relative bearing ring, graduated to 360 degs is mounted vertically inside bowl. At centre of the verge glass is a brass plug which serves for filling and for insertinga special transit plug. Fitted with an aluminium frame within which it can be rotated, the frame also has an aluminium verge ring, graduated to 360 degs. The whole unit mounted in a brass gimbal ring 14.75" (37.5cm) diameter.
Card-Dia. 6.26" (16cm) White painted mica(?) with black markings, graduated to 350 degs. with a second set of mirrored graduations. A semi-path is cut in the card to allow the passage of light. Attached by a wire framework to white float at centre.
Binnacle-Dia. 17.7" (45cm) "Kelvin type" Wood with aluminium fittings, aluminium top, aluminium sphere brackets (spheres missing). Two doors in side give access to corrector magnet racks (unsighted).
Hood-Grey painted lumimium with two round glazed apertures with lids, and two round unglazed apertures with lids, and a round glazed aperture with shutter at top.
