Compass card

Dry compass

Card: Made of linen stretched over metal framework. The linen is white with black markings graduated to quarter points and quadrantally in degrees. There are four sections of the linen removed which show the needles.

Pivot: Aluminium pivot cap at centre is attached to the linen and not the metal framework.

Needle: The four needles, in two sets, are flat and attached directly to the metal framework. The needles are painted red at the north end and blue at the south.
Length 3.4" and 2.75" (8.6 cm and 7 cm)
The card is badly stained.
