Discovery (1901)
A 12x10 negative. A distant port near broadside view, taken from just abaft the beam, of the Royal Research Ship Discovery (1901) at anchor in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has two steam vessels alongside her and is taking on stores for her Antarctic Expedition with Captain R F Scott in command. She sailed for Spithead on 31 July 1901. Tilbury Fort is in the background.
