Oroya (1886)

A half plate negative. A port bow view, taken from wide off the bow, of the passenger/cargo liner Oroya (1886) aground in the Bay of Naples, Italy. She is broadside on to the beach with her anchors down and lines running from her masts to the shore. She has short funnels and no yards on her foremast. The Oroya (1886) ran ashore near Naples 4 March 1895 and was not refloated until 23 April 1895. She was repaired at Belfast. A copy negative made by F C Gould & Son of a photographic print by an unknown photographer.
