Peninsular (1888)
A 12x10 negative. A port near broadside view, taken from just ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Peninsular (1888) at anchor in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She is flying the blue peter and a pilot flag. She has three yards on her foremast and awnings are rigged amidships and aft. The passenger ferry Sir Walter Raleigh (1855) and the tug Vigilant (1874) are alongside and the steam launch Maude (1886) is standing off. A twin funnelled tug is alongside her starboard side forward. Tilbury is in the background.
