What type of group visit are you arranging? Here you can get see our great itineraries for your visit to Royal Museums Greenwich.

 
First-time group visit to Greenwich (4 hours)
  • Arrive to Greenwich by riverboat – it is the best way to arrive 
  • Walk from Greenwich Pier through the town centre and Greenwich Royal Park, up the hill to the Royal Observatory (20 mins)
  • Enjoy our audio guided tour of the historic Royal Observatory allowing time for photos with the Meridian Line and time to browse the souvenir shop (1.5 hours)
  • Free time to explore the Queen’s House, National Maritime Museum and Greenwich Market and (1 hour) We recommend the tasty street food in the Market
  • Grab an audio guide and climb aboard Cutty Sark, the only surviving tea clipper built and learn what life was like on board a cargo ship.  (1 hour)
  • Before you go, take the ten-minute walk through Greenwich Foot Tunnel and you can catch the DLR from Isle of Dogs. Look out for the brick-and-glass dome in front of Cutty Sark. (10 mins) 
Senior group visit to Greenwich (4 hours)
  • Coach drops off group at Stockwell Street (SE10 9JN), outside Ibis Hotel
  • Short walk to the National Maritime Museum (15 mins)
  • Enjoy a guided tour of the National Maritime Museum (1 hour)
  • Then head for Cutty Sark, climb aboard and explore the history of the world’s sole surviving tea clipper. After exploring the ship, relax and enjoy Cutty Sark Afternoon Tea (1.5 hours)
  • Free time to explore the Queen’s House, Greenwich Market and Greenwich Park (1 hour)
  • Meet back at the drop off point to collect the coach. 
 
WI group visit to Greenwich (3 hours)
  • Arrive to the Orangery of the Queen’s House 
  • Enjoy the “Undressing the Tudor and Stuarts”. This is an interactive demonstration, talking through the significance of clothing worn by the Tudors and Stuarts and the importance it played within society. Discover how clothing was worn in the past and learn about fashion trends that dominated that era. (1 hour)
  • Free time to explore the rest of the artwork in the Queen’s House and to visit the National Maritime Museum (1 hour)
  • Head to the Parkside Terrace for Royal Afternoon Tea overlooking Greenwich Royal Park (1 hour)
 
U3A group visit to Greenwich (2 hours)
  • Arrive to Cutty Sark by riverboat – make the journey part of the fun
  • Climb aboard Cutty Sark and enjoy your pre-booked 30-minute highlights tour. With your own personal guide, it is a great way for your group to learn about the 150 years of history of this ship.  Then explore the ship some more yourself (30 minutes)
  • Then head to the Cutty Sark Café, relax and enjoy Cutty Sark Afternoon Tea (1 hour)
 
Student group visit to Greenwich (4 hours)
  • Bring your group to our Interactive Workshop at the National Maritime Museum. We have limited availability; please see our planning ideas for available dates. 
  • We offer interactive educational workshops for intermediate and advanced international students. The workshops are art-based activities primarily based around the themes of our galleries. All activities can be tailored to meet the specific group’s needs. (2- 3 hours)
  • Pre-packed lunches can be made available and enjoy in the Park (1 hour)
