Solar System Holiday This resource contains fact files about the Sun, the planets and Pluto along with a song that follows Ted and Plant on their adventures around the Solar System. The fact files and song can be used together or separately and are designed to introduce students to some of the main bodies in our solar system and what they are like. Solar System in a box In this video, Royal Observatory Greenwich astronomer Brendan recreates the Solar System in plasticine form to demonstrate the science of light and dark, and light and shadow, in space. Students can recreate their very own Solar System in a Box. Fruit Solar System This classroom activity helps students grasp the various sizes of planets in our Solar System using mostly fruit and can be joined with activity demonstrated in the Solar System in a Box video. Shadows On Other Worlds Join the astronomers at the Royal Observatory Greenwich as they go on an adventure to discover what shadows look like on other worlds.
