Antarctic Animals

Antarctica is an ice-covered continent that covers the southernmost part of the world. The South Pole is located in Antarctica. Antarctica is surrounded by the Southern Ocean and has an abundance of animal life, like Whales, Penguins and Albatross.

Learn how to create your own Antarctic Animal

 

You will need: 

- Empty cereal box

- Scissors

- Felt-tips or something else to colour in with

- Glue

-Toilet roll tube

Make a penguin - Step One

Make a soft fold in a loo roll and snip upwards to make a beak.

Step Two

Make two longer snips on either side to make the penguin's wings.

Step Three

Colour in your penguin! Mine is an Emperor Penguin, so it has yellow and orange markings as well as the usual black and white.

Make an Albatross: an extraordinarily large sea-bird - Step One

Make a beak snip like the penguin but the other way around.

Step Two

Fold a piece of card in half and draw on this shape.

Step Three

Cut out the shape and glue the curved end together with pritt stick.

Step Four

Slot the beak into the upside down V.

On the cereal box, draw out a shape like this and then cut it out.

Step Five

Make two cuts down either side of the loo roll.

Slot in the wings.

Colour in your Albatross and imagine it flying!

Make an Orca - Step One

 Draw these shapes on to some card and cut them out.

Mark these lines on your loo roll and then cut along them.

Slot in your fins, and tail.

Draw on your Orca markings.

Colour in the distinct pattern on your Orca.
