What does your work involve?

I am a DJ, curator and creative director. I work across mediums to communicate cultural stories to large audiences, through projects like the What Is This Behaviour? podcast and Dialled In, the artist-led music, arts and culture festival that celebrates South Asian artistry.

What inspires you?

I am inspired by the everyday and our truest, simplest and yet sometimes hardest-to-grasp human experiences. My creative expression is a reflection of the world through my lens, and I am fuelled by the joy I feel when I master and share my creative gifts and skills. I am most surprised when I realise I am unknowingly inspired by knowledge, traditions and practices passed down through the women in my family!

What message would you give to the next generation?

Spend time getting familiar with your inner voice and understanding who you are. This is the key to everything you do and everything you want to do. Your taste is something to refine, play with, tease out! Most importantly, have fun and give yourself space to change your mind – you are ever-evolving.
