Step into a world of snow and Christmas wonder at the Queen’s House this festive season.
If your little one would benefit from meeting Santa in a quieter environment, these are the perfect sessions for you.
Book a relaxed session and you and your loved ones can take a trip into a former royal residence and travel into the icy land of the Snow Queen, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's enchanting fairy tale.
Follow an actor-led story adventure, meeting characters along the way: the powerful Snow Queen herself, her assistant the Hobgoblin, friends Gerda and Kai, and the little robber girl.
Your adventure finishes in Santa's Grotto, where little ones will meet Father Christmas and receive a special gift to take home.
What to expect from the Santa's Grotto relaxed sessions
Our relaxed sessions have:
- Fewer tickets per time slot, so the experience is quieter than usual.
- Reduced lighting and music levels for a calmer experience.
- A more relaxed attitude towards noise and movement from our staff.
These special sessions designed for children with additional sensory, educational, and emotional needs as well as those with sensory processing differences and other disabilities.
Please be aware that places on our relaxed sessions are limited.
To ensure as many SEND families as possible can attend the sessions, please try to limit the number of additional adults and children booking these sessions.
Your accessible Santa's Grotto session
Our Visitor and Sales Assistants are trained in disability awareness, so please ask a member of staff for any assistance you may need during your visit.
Santa's Grotto at the Queen's House is wheelchair friendly; we just ask wheelchair users and visitors using mobility scooters to contact us in advance. Please email bookings@rmg.co.uk.

Early Bird Santa's Grotto tickets cost £27 each (or £25 each for RMG Family Members) for any date during the Grotto season at the Queen’s House. (There's an additional £3 booking fee per transaction.)
Be quick, the Early Bird offer ends on Wednesday 30 September 2026.
