Personal Letters.
7 letters to Mr Griggs. One of these letters has no date and is signed "Joe". The other six date between May 1943 and July 1945. The earliest appears to be from a friend, Kenneth, who enquires about Griggs' time in Algiers, and then another similar letter from him later in the year, which has been transcribed and typed out. The second is a letter from Griggs' daughter June, telling her father her latest school exam results. In 1944 his friend M.C. Cook, or "Cookie" as he signs off, writes about family and friends back home, and lastly there is a letter signed "Suffolk" which mostly concerns a pair of broken spectacles.
