In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Enclosure: Extract of a letter from James Young, Surgeon at Plymouth Yard in which he claims that the charge of neglect is unfair and encloses a Certificate signed by fourteen Officers at the Yard attesting to his professionalism. He admits that he is not always present at the Yard as his duties take him to outlying places to attend patients. He alludes to a quarrel with a person as yet unspecified as the reason he has been accused but claims to have been very successful in not losing a single patient and is available at his home in the Yard as often as required. He claims to have served for forty years but refers to a dispute with a Mr Cotter as the cause of the accusation. Signed by James Young, Surgeon.
