Volume 2: Official Despatches from the British Ambassador in Berlin to the British Foreign Office from 2 August 1800 to 25 October 1801. This volume also contains annotations similar to those found in volume 1., re. differences between these copies and the F.O. copies of the letters. The letters cover European political and military matters, for example the first sentence of that of 11 November 1800 reads 'My Lord, there is strong reason to believe the French are endeavouring with the greatest industry tp engage the Northern Courts in a maritime league against Great Britain'.
