A letter written by C. Blowers to his daughter, Mrs Hilda Thompson in 1914; describing the capture of the S.S. VANDYCK by the Germans. The letter is 8 pages long and is in a very fragile condition. Item also includes a second, later letter from Mrs. Hilda Thompson describing the circumstances by which it was donated; finally there is also a newspaper cutting outlining the event described within the letter.
