In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Enclosing:
1. A copy of an undated letter from Thomas Norwood, late Master of the VINE KETCH, a tender to the LICHFIELD, addressed to Admiral Russell, in which he requests some award be made him in view of his having been wounded in action. Asking for a report and an opinion as to what might be done for him.
2. A copy of an undated certificate signed by J[ohn] Cooper, Commander of the MERLIN KETCH attesting that Thomas Norwood was wounded in service.
