Daily Guidance booklet given to John ‘Jack’ Stephens.
Daily Guidance booklet given to John ‘Jack’ Stephens, son of Tom Stephens, by Annie Jolly, who was probably the wife of William Jolly, master of the MARY JOHNS, which was part acquired by John Stephens in 1887. The booklet is for recording the birthdays of friends and includes a passage from the Bible for each day, and a list of female Christian names with their meanings. Written on the inside cover of the book is a message from Annie Jolly to Jack Stephens, wishing him health and happiness on his first voyage, in 1905.
