The Vice Admiral Commanding North Atlantic Voyage I, II, and III report letters
Three typewritten letters kept by John Williams Damer-Powell to the unnamed Vice Admiral of the North Atlantic reporting on the weekly accounts of voyages made in the Italian motor ship VULCANIA. Voyage I was from Gibraltar to Berbera, returning via Port Elizabeth and Las Palmas back to Gibraltar. The ship carried repatriated Italians on board from what was Italian East Africa. Voyages II was from Gibraltar to Port Elizabeth, returning via Port Elizabeth and St. Vincent back to Gibraltar. The ship carried repatriated men, women, and children on board from Ethiopia. Voyage III was from Gibraltar to Port Elizabeth, Aden, Massawa, and Jibuti [Djibouti], back to Gibraltar, carrying passengers repatriated from Eritrea. During this voyage, they were informed of the fall of Mussolini.
