Typescript letter from Commander Arthur Edward Frederic Bedford to his wife Gladys, describing the part played by the armoured cruiser HMS KENT (1901) in the Battle of the Falkland Islands on 8 December 1914, written at Port Stanley on 12 December 1914. It includes diagrams showing the relative positions of British and German warships. At the time Bedford had the rank of commander and was the executive officer on the KENT.
