Official papers: Orders for the schooner HMS NETLEY (1798), sent to Bond by Rear-Admiral John Thomas Duckworth, given on HMS LEVIATHAN (1790) on the River Tagus, dated 1 December 1799 (1 sheet, 2 pages). Bond is ordered to put himself under the command of Captain Jahleel Brenton of the brig HMS SPEEDY (captured 1795), with the NETLEY required to cruise off Porto for the protection of trade, with details of where to seek water and provisions.
