Walker, Thomas and Richard, Manufacturers and Merchants of Manchester.
The papers relate to three generations of the Walker family of Manchester. Thomas Walker left a printed account of his trial, which he claimed had been 'rigged' and his papers also contain an obituary pamphlet 'Biographical Memoirs of Thomas Walker'.

Thomas and Richard Walker were manufacturers of silks, velvets and cottons, etc. Thomas Walker was evidently a zealous reformer who supported the repeal of the Test Acts and was very active in opposing Pitt's proposed Fustian Tax . He was also an ardent supporter of the French Revolution and in 1793 was accused of sedition.
