Also copy of extracts from a letter of 19th June 1824, from Franklin to Mrs Flinders (at end of letter notes 'the original letter sent by me to Mrs Gell - Aug 12 1852, A.P'); and a page from the Illustrated London News of 1st Oct 1859 reproducing Franklin's last message.

There is also a small note titled '7 letters of Sir J Franklin to Mrs Flinders lent to Mrs Gell March 19 ?1855 or 1856' - of which two seem to be missing from the present collection (1 Nov 1810 and 14 Oct 1813), but there is a letter from Franklin to Captain Flinders dated 1 Nov 1810 in Flinders' correspondence (FLI/1).

Conservation Note: fragile, with seals. Existing tear on letter dated 18 Feb 1818.
