Orontes (1862)

A whole plate negative. A port broadside view of the Royal Navy troopship Orontes (1862) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has been lengthened by fifty feet and has two funnels after being re-engined. She has an auxiliary barque rig, is dressed overall and her hull is painted white with a dark riband. Tilbury is in the background. Negatives numbers G2090, G2091 and G2092 were taken on the same occasion.
