Horizontal pedestal dial
Horizontal pedestal dial for latitude 53° North. The base of the sundial is circular and made of wood with printed paper. The hour and minute circles are drawn with scrolled leaf ends. Within the hour circle is a circular table giving the equation of time. The centre of the dial is occupied by a windrose with a 16 point compass rose. The centre of the windrose is filled with a hemisphere, within which a shaped wooden gnomon is held. This dial is signed 'COLEBY 1829 Wm. MORRIS'. It was made by Morris for the Coleby Parish Church.
