A middle-aged officer, possibly the master, by the wheelhouse of the general cargo ship Empire Stour (1930) at sea.
A full length portrait of an unidentified middle-aged officer by the wheelhouse of the general cargo ship Empire Stour (1930) while she is at sea. This officer is in uniform and wearing a duffle coat in wet weather, as shown by his reflection in the rain soaked deck. He is standing by the port side of the wheelhouse leaning against a large wooden locker, looking forward and to port. He has a pair of binoculars round his neck, is smoking a pipe and may be the ship's master. Vertical format.
