Whitby harbour, Yorkshire

Looking east across the River Esk at the harbour entrance from Pier Road quayside to the backs of the properties in Church Street. It is low tide. On the right is the RNLI lifeboat house and slipway which stops short of the water! A motor fishing vessel is dried out and a few cobles are at the water's edge. St Mary's Church is on Abbey Plain, East Cliff, in the background.
