A very distant bow view of a Coastal Motor Boat at speed in Black Deep, Thames Estuary. The light cruiser HMS Aurora (1913), from which this photograph was taken, had a CMB on board during August 1916.

The Aurora was prepared for trial of motor boats on 8 August. No further mention of the boats is made for August. [Ship's Log, TNA, ADM 53/34495]
