Roma (1873)
        
        A quarter plate negative.  A fair quality starboard very near broadside view, taken from only just ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Roma (1873) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames.  She has an unusually high rounded poop resembling an early form of cruiser stern and she has a three masted rig with three yards on her foremast.  Tilbury Fort is in the background.  the left side of the negative is affected by damp.  A Gould copy of a Gould photographic print made from a large format glass plate negative that has not survived.
