Whitby (1954)
A whole plate negative. On board the Type 12 frigate Whitby (1954) in the fitting out basin of Cammell Laird & Co (Shipbuilders & Engineers) Ltd at Birkenhead. The photographer is in 2 deck lobby looking forward from station 38 through the open watertight door at station 31 to the rear of the gun bay at station 25½. On thwe right is the door to the wardroom pantry and on the left is an Enfield Auto Diesels emergency diesel generator. On the deckhead are hammock slinging beams for the duty night boat's crew. A vertical format copy negative of a Bale original photographic print.
