Yarmouth (1959) ship's crest
A half plate glass plate negative. A close view of a wooden pattern crest for the Type 12 frigate Yarmouth (1959) under construction in John Brown & Co Ltd's shipyard at Clydebank. The crest is hexagonal with the ship's name at the top edge under a navy crown. The heraldic creature in the middle is a lion rampant with a fish tail, described as 'Per pale Gules and Azure a Lion passant guardant in pale Or dimidiated with a Herring naiant in pale Argent'. A vertical format image.
