Yarmouth (1959) on board views on completion
A half plate sheet film negative. On board the Type 12 frigate Yarmouth (1959) alongside the south-east corner of the fitting out basin in John Brown & Co Ltd's shipyard at Clydebank. In the bridge wireless office on the starboard side of 2 deck between 32¾ and 35 stations. The photographer is looking to port. On the left is the bay of the rating in charge and it is fitted with four telephones, a switchboard, a microphone, two voicepipes and a morse key. The next bay is for the book coder and the wireless state board is by this bay. Bay 7 is the broadcast bay and bay 8 is the MF/DF (FM12) bay, both being equipped with morse keys. On the right are bays 1 to 4, all equipped with morse keys, and bay 2 has a Creed & Co Ltd teletypewriter. In the foreground on the right is a C.U.J. 692 unit. Fixed to the door is the W.T. station board and to the left of the door is an emergency lamp, a fire extinguisher and a transformer . No chairs are yet supplied.
