Yarmouth (1959) on board views on completion
A half plate sheet film negative. On board the Type 12 frigate Yarmouth (1959) alongside the south-east corner of the fitting out basin in John Brown & Co Ltd's shipyard at Clydebank. In the engine room on 4 deck between 49 and 57 stations. The photographer is on the main platform and on the right is a nest of 3 drawers. Above the drawers is a first aid cabinet. On the left is a workbench fitted with a vice and two large cylindrical tanks, one above the other, are beyond it. A gauge on the centre lagged pipe reads 'gland steam reservoir' and a control wheel is labelled 'turbine gland stm'.
