Yarmouth (1959) on board views on completion

A half plate sheet film negative. On board the Type 12 frigate Yarmouth (1959) alongside the south-east corner of the fitting out basin in John Brown & Co Ltd's shipyard at Clydebank. In the 4.5 inch shell magazine on 4 deck between 19 and 23 stations. The photographer is looking forward and to starboard from the port side of the magazine. On the left is a rack for the stowage of boxes of cordtex, the ladder leading up to the seamen's mess on 3 deck and a rope ladder. On the starboard side are shelves for the stowage of boxes of one pound demolition charges, primers, grenades and plastic explosive. A box containing a spare 4.5 inch breech block is at deck level on the starboard side.
