Hardy (1953). Inside the main communications office.
A 35mm roll film negative. On board the Blackwood class type 14 frigate Hardy (1953) at Gibraltar. In the main communications office between stations 22½ and 27½ on the port side of 1 deck. The photographer is looking to port from the doorway showing a large Racal receiver cabinet fitted with a fan on top, on flexible mountings on the deck. In the centre is an operator's bay equipped with a telephone and a morse key. A Gresham transformer is under the desk. On the right is a printing machine and a filing tray on top of a two drawer filing cabinet. Above is a nest of pigeon holes with two file and manual racks at high level. A vertical format negative.
