A 35mm roll film negative. On board the Rothesay class type 12 frigate Rhyl (1959) in Devonport Dockyard. In the crew's preparing space on the starboard side of 2 deck between 41 and 46¼ stations. The photographer is looking aft from outside the galley archway showing a worktop on the right with storage shelves and a cupboard under it and a glass fronted cupboard above it. On the extreme left are a fire extinguisher, an automatic emergency lantern and the control panel for the galley equipment. Against the aft bulkhead are two steel cupboard and drawer units with a large mincing and mixing machine between them. The photograph was taken prior to 9 May 1972.
