A 35mm roll film negative. On board the Rothesay class type 12 frigate Rhyl (1959) in Devonport Dockyard. In the junior rates mess on 3 deck between 23 and 27 stations. The photographer is looking aft on the port side of the mess showing two kit lockers and a 3 tier bunk unit rigged for sitting on the left. A mirror is fixed to the side of the upper kit locker. On the right are two 3 tier bunk units rigged for sitting. On the aft bulkhead is a nest of various sized lockers with a fan ventilation unit above them. The photograph was taken prior to 9 May 1972. A vertical format negative.
