A 35mm roll film negative. A slightly distant port broadside view of the commando carrier Hermes (1953) under way in Plymouth Sound in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. Her pendant number is R12. A Westland Wessex HU.5 helicopter coded E is on the forward part of her flight deck and another one coded D is on the aft end of the flight deck.
