On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in centre of the hangar at 168 station on 3 deck looking to starboard. The lift well is on the right . On the starboard bulkhead are No. 5 fire point, a NATO air panel and chemical foam drums.
