Hermes (1953). On the flight (1) deck during conversion.
        
        A 35 mm roll film negative.  On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) alongside 6 and 7 wharves in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in early July 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier.  She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the starboard flight (1) deck walkway looking forward from 154 station showing  a chemical foam locker and a fire point with a telephone on the end bulkhead.  Three oxy-acetylene trollies and a stack of planks are on the flight deck.  A vertical format negative.
