Day, Summers & Co Collection
A small collection from the yard of Day, Summers & Co that came in as part of the larger John I Thornycroft Collection. Day, Summers & Co went into liquidation in 1928 and the Northam Yard was purchased by Thornycroft for ship repair in 1929.
The collection consists of 208 plans for steam yacts, tugs, paddle excursion steams, a mine sweeper and chain ferry, yard numbers 40-193, with gaps. Some of the collection is fragile.
