On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960) alongside the fitting out berth of Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd at Linthouse, Glasgow. The photographer is in the operations room between 31 and 35½ stations on 1 deck looking forward and to port from the starboard aft corner. Two plotting tables with a visual display unit between them and four stools in front are overlooked by the captain's high chair. On the left is a warfare controller's position with a visual display unit next to it. In the background are the A.A. co-ordination tote and the fleet disposition tote boards.
