On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960) alongside the fitting out berth of Alexander Stephen & Sons ltd at Linthouse, Glasgow. The photographer is in the C.P.Os mess between 56½ and 61½ stations on the starboard side of 2 deck looking forward from 59 station showing a double bunk settee unit on either side of the mess with five easy chairs. An electric fire, two kit lockers, a mirror and an air conditioning unit are against the forward bulkhead. A bookshelf, letter rack, noticeboard, loudspeaker and electric fan are against the starboard side of the ship. The mess cleaning gear locker is in the starboard forward corner.
