The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960). In the electrical mess between 27 and 31 stations on 3 deck.

On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960) alongside the fitting out berth of Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd at Linthouse, Glasgow. The photographer is in the electrical mess between 27 and 31 stations on 3 deck looking forward and to port showing four mess tables, stools and a hammock stowage bin in the foreground with a refrigerator between two of the tables. Kit lockers and the mess cleaning gear locker are in the centre of the mess and the stairs up to 2 deck are beyond the cleaning gear locker. More kit lockers are against the forward bulkhead and on the port side of the mess. A watertight hatch leading down to 4 deck is on the left with an electric fire beyond it. Hammock rails are under the deckhead.
