The photographer is in the junior rates' mess between 57 and 62½ stations on 3 deck looking forward from 62 station on the port side showing two kit lockers, four boot lockers, an air conditioning unit and a double settee/bunk unit on the left.  Ahead is a row of kit, boot and mess lockers. A triple tier bunk unit is on the right.  A suitcase rack, a kit locker and a fire extinguisher are against the forward bulkhead in the right background.
